The galleries focus mainly on the areas in South-East Queensland that have been the inspiration for most of my 'playing with paint' over the past decade. The main focus of these landscapes has been the continuing quest to capture the elusive play of shadow and light in the Australian bush, mainly concentrating on Moggill and White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Parks and Springbrook and Lamington National Parks.
The changing of seasons and differing times of day provide never-ending nuances of light and colour. For me, only oil paint can adequately portray both the luminous qualities and subtlety of Australian light and by necessity I am continually developing new techniques in the quest for a unique vision (further details can be found in Biography). The images are not by any means all of the works - some paintings just refuse to be photographed no matter how many times I try - just shy I guess!
The ‘Other Works’ gallery includes abstracted landscapes from and a number of one-off portraits.
